Light & Creamy Shrimp & Broccoli Pasta

This is light and simple dish that I find myself easily whipping up when we're low on ingredients but are looking for something to satisfy my 'pasta tooth' which I have often. I think this has the light feeling of a scampi but still adds a touch of creaminess (similar to fettucine) without feeling guilty.

Creamy Cajun Potato Soup

This soup is tried, tested and true from the Cuisine at Home and has easily become one of my favorite soup recipes to date. This soup is versatile meaning you can make it more potato-y or brothy and you can even downplay or play up the heat, based on your spicy preference. Most importantly, it's super flavorful and is a go-to of mine especially during fall and winter.

Taco Seasoning

This is the easiest homemade taco seasoning recipe that gives your fish, beef, chicken, and veggies tacos (or fajitas and more!) all the best FRESH flavors without all the extra additives you would find in pre-packaged spice packets.

Classic Pot Roast

This month, my mom gifted me the Half Baked Harvest Everyday cookbook by Tieghan Gerard and I immediately teared up. I've been slowly building my cookbook collection for the past few years and this one so far is one of my absolute favorites. I was immediately swooned by the opening spread that has a thoughtful run down of all Tieghan's favorite essentials in the kitchen AND her favorite go-to brands for cooking staples like oil, sugar, and eggs and more. To be honest, I never followed the HBH blog but after receiving this book I was sold as a fan! I give this book a glowing five stars and highly recommend if you're new to cooking and are looking for simple, delicious, healthy inspired meals.

Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

Chocolate chip cookies have been deceptively hard for us to get just right. In theory, these cookies should be really easy – after all, it’s just a standard cookie batter with chocolate chips added, right? What we’ve learned is that although this cookie is simple, success comes down to quality of ingredients, taking your time, and a close eye on the oven.

Nutty Banana Bread Muffins

I’m pretty sure everyone has their go-to banana bread recipe. Well, here’s ours. It wasn’t passed down by mom or nana (although we’ll need to backtrack those at a later date) and we don’t claim ours to be the best because we know there’s dozens of amazing banana bread recipes. But what I will say is, this is my absolute favorite version of banana bread that we’ve made to date. I make it about every other week—usually on Sundays morning—and it’s simple, light, nutty, and warms the soul the way I want it to. So in our house, it’s the best.

Blackened Seasoning

Blackened seasoning is a flavorful blend of spices commonly used for blackening meat and seafood that typically includes paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, thyme, oregano, cayenne, salt, and black pepper. This is our GO-TO recipe for blackened seasoning. So much so, that we like to make a lot at once to have ready to go for future recipes. Technically, you can use this rub on any type of meat however, our favorite thing to use it on is any type of white fish, salmon, crab meat, shrimp or the similar. Before you get started, I recommend double checking you have all spices in advance since this calls for a good amount as we’re making a larger amount so you have enough for a few dishes.
